VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Be a part of your child's learning experience. GWPO is solely supported by parent volunteers and we welcome your contributions. We have a lot of different opportunities in which you can donate your time.
Yearbook
The collection and documentation of Grant Watts activities throughout the year which are combined and designed into the school yearbook.
- Erica Smith is the lead for the 2019-2020 year.
School Display Boards
Each year, a creative member of GWPO lends their talents to design and build display boards near the admin offices of Grant Watts, providing parents with important updates and information.

Boohoo, Yahoo Breakfast
Kindergarten parents are invited to join a free breakfast after they deliver their students to the classroom, offering a wonderful opportunity to ask questions, meet other kinder parents and get involved with Grant Watts.
Bingo Night
A night of Bingo fun for the whole family! Volunteers are needed to work one night in October with the lead on set-up, clean-up and during the event.

Branded Apparel Sales
Each year, GWPO offers parents the opportunity to purchase Grant Watts branded apparel, including T-shirts and sweatshirts, to benefit GWPO fundraising efforts.

Fall Harvest Festival
This evening event takes place on the Saturday before Halloween and serves as an alternative way to celebrate fall. Parent volunteers are needed for Friday night set up, to staff activity booths, run the concession stands, and event clean up. With approximately 20+ booths that have three- one hour shifts per booth, we need many volunteers to make this event successful!
- Jessica Townsend and Kate Anicker are the co-leads for the 2019-2020 year.
Totem Token Store
Help support the PBIS Program and help students browse or make purchases at the store during their recess. Teachers will have a print out of how much each student can spend and volunteers will track the spending after the student has made the selection.
- Megan Greisen is the lead for the 2019-2020 school year.
Walks-A-Lot
Walks-A-Lot is a program that encourages students to be active during their recess by walking or running the track. Volunteers punch cards to help keep track of laps students complete. Volunteers are needed 1 day a week October - May, not including December. Student's will receive charms for his/her achievements though the year. Those who participate in the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning will receive a special charm!
- Megan Meinecke is the lead for the 2019-2020 year.
Family Movie Night
Family move night is themed different each year. Parent volunteers work together to coordinate and staff this successful event. Popcorn and treats are served. Kids can show up in PJ’s and bring a blanket, pillow or stuffed animal. The movie is raffled off at the end of the night.

Hearts & Arrows
Hearts & Arrows is a dance put on for the whole family. It is done in February with a fun valentine inspired theme. Volunteers are needed to work with the lead on decorating, photo-booth, set-up and clean-up.
- Kate Anicker is the lead for the 2019-2020 year.
Spring Auction
This is GWPO’s largest event and most important fundraiser of the year. It requires many volunteers at various times with varying levels of commitments to work with the leads. Volunteering opportunities include: Procurement, Catalog Distribution, Cashiering, Data Management, Greeters, Baker', Decorators, Advertising, set up, and clean up.
- Stephenie West is the lead for the 2019-2020 year.
Staff Treat Day
This is an annual appreciation celebration from the parents to all the staff at Grant Watts. The staff looks forward to this day all year long. We get a chance to show them how much appreciate what they do for our children! Volunteers are needed to bake approximate 50 desserts to provide each staff member with a treat to take home. Only a few volunteers are needed organize the event as the treats come in, however, we will be need many volunteers to bake the special treats for delivery.
