WHAT IS G.W.P.O.?
G.W.P.O. stands for Grant Watts Parent Organization and is staffed solely by parent volunteers.
Our motto, “Partners In Education” guides us as we engage with staff at Grant Watts Elementary to make every student’s learning experience the best it can be.
The purpose of this organization is to encourage the involvement of families and community for the benefit of Grant Watts School. This involvement may include, but is not limited to, fundraising, curricular enrichment, and activities which enhance the culture and climate of the school. The members of GWPO believe parents are partners in the educational process.
We meet once a month in the Grant Watts Music Room at 7:00pm for school updates and to coordinate various programs and activities at Grant Watts Elementary. Anyone who has a child attending Grant Watts is welcome and encouraged to attend. We love seeing new faces!
GWPO sponsors and/or coordinates many special events at the school including:
Fall Harvest Festival
Family Movie Night
Teacher Treat Day
Annual Spring Auction
In addition to these fun events, GWPO’s successful fundraising efforts have enabled us to sponsor the following items:
$250 Class Allowance for every classroom
Field Trips for all grade levels
We have also been able to contribute to the purchase of books for the library, office supplies, playground equipment and much much more!
We encourage you to become active in your child’s school and hope your involvement will include participation in G.W.P.O.
