Come be a part of your child's learning experience. We have lot's of different opportunities in which you can donate your time.
This fun night is the GWPO's largest event of the year and makes up the bulk of our fundraising budget for the following year. It requires many volunteers at various times throughout the year. There are many areas in which help is needed.
Procurement (donation & sponsorship requests)
Grade Level Basket Coordinator
If you can't help out this year, we hope you can still attend. Save the date for April 20, 2013. If you have any questions, and would like to know more about how you can help, please feel free send questions to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Time needed is only about 2 hours 3 times in the school year. We have 3 sessions and parent volunteers are trained in a medium of art and sent to the classroom to then teach it to their child's class. We try to have 2-3 parents per class. It is not as scary as you may think and we promise you will have a lot of fun! For more information please contact our Art Litearcy Chair, Sarah LaBeck; email@example.com
Walks A Lot Walking Program
Commitment is 1/2 hour a week. This program lasts from late September to May. The program will take a break during the month of December and resume in January. The objective is to encourage 1st-3rd graders to be active by walking or jogging around the fitness track during their morning recess. For every lap completed, a parent volunteer will hand the student a straw. The straws are counted and laps are recorded as tally marks on a mileage chart. When 4 tally marks are recorded, they are given credit for 1 mile. Students are collect charms for each mile. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com for more info on how and when you can come and help cheer the kids on!
A night of bingo entertainment for the whole family! This low key event is easily planned and organized with the use of the digital bingo machine software which allows for easy operation and participation. We are looking for someone to follow our current chairperson to learn "the ropes" and organize this event for next year.
Fall Harvest Festival
Scheduled in October. This fun family event serves as an alternative way to celebrate Halloween. Families get a chance to tour the school in costume and participate in a variety of games for special prizes. Parent volunteers are needed to staff the game booths in shifts. Parents are also needed to help setup and cleanup at this event. Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to participate.
