We are the Grant Watts Parent Organization (G.W.P.O)

Our motto, “Partners In Education” guides us as we engage with staff at Grant Watts Elementary to make every student’s learning experience the best it can be. 

GWPO sponsors and/or coordinates many special events at the school.  Bingo Night, Fall Harvest Festival, Family Fun Night, Walk A Thon and our Annual Spring Auction.

In addition to these fun events,  GWPO’s successful fundraising efforts have enabled the group to provide a special Teacher Allowance for every teacher in the amount of $250.00 as a supplement for any special supplies that they may need. We fund field trips for every grade level and also have been able to contribute to the purchase of laptops, new science kits, new swing sets, new library books and much more. 

We sponsor many programs in the classroom such as Art Literacy which focuses on teaching students basic art concepts by introducing them to the work of art masters such as Monet, Van Gogh, Da Vinci and Norman Rockwell.   The Junior Great Books Program that provides students with advanced reading skills of reading and discussing literature in a smaller group setting.  We also have a Walks-A-Lot program that promotes health and fitness by encouraging 1st-3rd graders to run laps around the playground during recess. 

All of these programs are funded by GWPO and staffed solely by parent volunteers.
